When it comes to hyped-up destinations, Mist restaurant Bohol, had been on our radar, thanks to all the buzz on TikTok. Curious to see if it lived up to expectations, we decided to check it out on a Sunday afternoon around 2 PM. With the lunch rush behind us, the place was blissfully quiet, and we practically had the whole venue to ourselves.

Mist’s vibe is one of a kind—a jungle or forest-inspired theme with warm wooden accents that add to its rustic charm. It even features a slide, adding a playful touch! From the moment we arrived, we could feel the staff’s hospitality as they greeted us warmly. Maybe it was because it was downtime, but they were attentive without hovering, which made us feel extra special.

Let’s Talk Food

We went in ready to indulge, starting with a sampling of four kinds of tacos: shrimp, pork, beef, and crab. I’ll be honest—the beef taco stole the show. It was juicy and packed with flavor, the kind that makes you close your eyes for a second and just savor it. But the shrimp taco? That was a bit of a letdown. A single shrimp perched atop a pile of shredded cabbage felt underwhelming.

The grilled corn with parmesan cheese was the kind of comfort food I didn’t know I needed (to think that I’m not even a fan of corn to begin with!). It was cheesy, buttery, and perfectly charred—simple but so, so good.

The truffle pasta was another highlight—rich and creamy, though I wished the truffle flavor had popped a bit more.

The seared salmon with mango salsa brought a refreshing balance to the meal. The mango salsa added a sweet, tangy punch that made the dish feel light yet satisfying. By the time we got to the nachos though, we were too full to fully enjoy them but they were crunchy and loaded just right for snacking.

If there’s one thing we’d come back for in a heartbeat, it’s the drinks. The coco-mango milkshake and mango dragonfruit shake were absolutely yummy. Cold, refreshing, and not overly sweet, they were exactly what we needed to beat the tropical heat.

Final Thoughts

Mist is the kind of place that feels like a treat—whether you’re there for the Instagram-worthy jungle vibes or just to indulge in a lazy afternoon meal. While a couple of dishes were a little “meh” and didn’t wow us, others shone brightly and the drinks were a true standout. Let’s also not forget the amazing 10/10 service we received.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Just go with the mindset that you’re paying for the full experience, not just the food.
Will I be back? Probably for those milkshakes and the photo ops!
